Fishing Reports and Free Nicholas Dean Gear!

We have big plans to upgrade the content, style and feel of our Fishing Reports and emails, and we want to ask you - our clients and readers - exactly what it is you'd like to see.  The best part?  There's a bonus for participating too!  Whether it's photos with big fish or those classic scenic shots that make you 'want to be there,' river conditions, promotions, conservation issues etc, we want to tailor the report to maximize your enjoyment.  And, if you submit your recommendations, we'll enter your name into a draw for a free Nicholas Dean Lodge toque (winter hat) AND Fly Nation DVD featuring the Skeena Steelhead episode.  The draw will take place on Thursday May 5, 2011.  Contact me at: chadblack@nicholasdean.com

Living far away and fishing the Skeena and tribs for 10 days a year, most of the buzz comes from vicarious thrills (the "VTs"). Photos feed the VTs, but a first hand recounting of the cast, the swing, the take and the battle is always enjoyable.

Even better is if the guide or angler talks about the specific situation that led to the hookup (that led to that great photo at the top of the page). "The fish tend to hold fairly tight against the far bank in 5'+ of slow water so the plan was fish a 2/0 BGS on a short leader and a sink tip . . . . Charlie bounced the fly off a white rock at the waterline and I commented that he should look for a slack line take . . . ." (You get the drift!)

Looking forward to reading the revised newsletter
